Cherry

/ˈtʃɛri/

the fruit of any of various trees belonging to the genus Prunus, of the rose family, consisting of a pulpy, globular drupe enclosing a one-seeded smooth stone.

Cherries are just little bite size wonders of goodness.  They have been listed among the top superfoods for their antioxidant properties due to their high level of anthocyanins.  They are a great source of phytosterols which help lower the levels of bad cholesterol (LDL) and reduce the risk of heart disease.  Sadly they are high in sugar though.  A handful of cherries could contain as much as 20g of sugar!
